What does a Solana token generator actually generate?

A mint account on Solana's SPL Token Program: an on-chain record of your token's supply, decimals and authorities, plus a linked Metaplex metadata account holding name, symbol, logo and description. "Generating" and "creating" a token mean the same thing here — the terminology differs by tool, the on-chain result doesn't.

How is a generator different from the Solana CLI?

Functionally, nothing — the CLI's spl-token create-token and create-metadata-account commands produce the same account structure this form does. The difference is entirely in interface: the CLI needs a local keypair file, the Solana CLI installed, and each parameter passed as a flag across several commands. This form collects the same parameters and submits one transaction from your connected wallet.

How much does it cost to generate a token?

0.5 SOL, covering the mint account, on-chain metadata and logo hosting, deployed in a single transaction. Optional next steps are priced separately: authority revocations are 0.1 SOL each. What decimals and supply should I generate with?

Nine decimals is the Solana default and the safest choice unless you have a specific reason otherwise; six is common for stablecoin-style tokens. This tool accepts 1 to 9 decimals. Supply has no technically correct value — one billion is the conventional meme-coin default because it produces comfortable per-token prices, while utility tokens more often sit at 10–100 million. Both are permanent once generated.

Does the generator support Token-2022?

Can I generate more than one token?

Yes. Each generation is an independent transaction and independent 0.5 SOL charge — there's no limit and no bundling discount for generating several.

Is the token tradeable immediately after generating it?

It exists immediately and is visible in your wallet and on Solscan, but nobody else can buy it until it has a liquidity pool. Create a Raydium CPMM pool or an AMM V4 pool once you're ready to make it tradeable — our pool tool builds the AMM V4 market automatically, so no separate Market ID purchase is required either way.

Do I need to revoke authorities after generating?

Not required, but expected by anyone checking your token before buying. Revoking mint authority proves your supply is fixed; revoking freeze authority proves accounts can't be frozen. Rugcheck and DEX Screener surface both, and an unrevoked authority is one of the most common reasons a launch gets flagged.

Can I test the generator before spending SOL?

Not this generator — it is mainnet only and every run charges the real 0.5 SOL. You can rehearse the same steps on Solana's devnet with free faucet SOL using your own wallet or the Solana CLI: a devnet token behaves identically to a mainnet one but has no real value and can't be traded.
