Does SolTokenCreator.io support Token-2022?

Not yet. The tool on this page — the same one used across the rest of the site — creates a standard SPL token: name, symbol, supply, decimals and on-chain metadata, deployed under Solana's original Token Program. It does not deploy under the Token-2022 program and does not build any extension instruction (transfer fees, confidential transfers, non-transferable, interest-bearing, default account state, permanent delegate or transfer hooks). If your project specifically needs one of those, you currently need custom development against the Token-2022 program — the Solana `spl-token-2022` CLI or SDK — rather than this tool.

What is Token-2022 on Solana?

Token-2022 (also called Token Extensions) is Solana's newer token program. It adds optional extensions — transfer fees, confidential transfers, non-transferable tokens, interest-bearing balances and more — at the protocol level, without a custom smart contract. A token belongs to exactly one program; SPL and Token-2022 tokens cannot be converted into each other after creation.

Which DEXs and wallets support Token-2022?

Jupiter, Raydium (via CPMM pools, not classic AMM V4) and Orca route basic Token-2022 tokens. Support for transfer-fee tokens specifically is patchier — some Jupiter routes miscalculate slippage on them. Phantom and Solflare display Token-2022 balances and fee mechanics correctly; support elsewhere is inconsistent. Check compatibility for your specific extension before committing to it.

Can I create a transfer-fee ("tax") token here?

Not through this page's automated tool today — see the first question above. Transfer fees are a Token-2022 extension, and this tool only builds standard SPL tokens.

How much would a Token-2022 token cost on SolTokenCreator.io?

There isn't a price for it, because the tool doesn't create one. What this page's tool does create — a standard SPL token with on-chain metadata — costs 0.5 SOL, the same as every other creation page on this site.

Should I use SPL Token or Token-2022 for my project?

Use standard SPL unless you have a specific, non-negotiable reason for an extension — it has the widest wallet, DEX, bot and aggregator support, and it's what you can create through this tool today. Consider Token-2022 only if your project truly needs protocol-level transfer fees, confidential transfers or one of the other extensions above, and you're prepared to build or commission that separately.

How to Create a Solana Token (Standard SPL)

Connect Wallet

Connect Phantom, Solflare, Backpack, or any Solana Wallet Adapter wallet. Make sure you have at least 0.55 SOL for creation, plus a little more for gas.

Configure Your Token

Set your token name, symbol, total supply, decimals (1–9) and upload a logo. This deploys a standard SPL mint — the same widely-supported token program used by USDC, BONK and most Solana tokens.

Deploy

Click Create Token and approve one transaction. Your token is live on Solana mainnet with mint and freeze authority in your own wallet.

What Each Token-2022 Extension Does

Transfer Fees

A Token-2022 extension that automatically withholds a percentage of every transfer for the fee authority to collect — the mechanism behind most "reflection" and "tax" token designs. Configured at mint creation as a basis-point rate with a cap. Not yet available through our automated tool.

Interest-Bearing / Reward Balances

Displays an accruing interest rate in wallets without a separate claim transaction, useful for staking-style reward tokens. The rate is cosmetic — it does not itself move tokens — and is set at mint creation. Not yet available through our automated tool.

Confidential Transfers

Hides transfer amounts using zero-knowledge proofs while keeping the sender, recipient and mint public and verifiable. Targets payroll, invoicing and other privacy-sensitive transfers. Wallet and DEX support is still limited. Not yet available through our automated tool.

Non-Transferable (Soulbound)

Tokens that can be minted to a wallet but never transferred afterward — used for credentials, achievements and identity tokens. Not yet available through our automated tool.

Default Account State

Sets whether new token accounts start frozen, useful for KYC-gated or allowlist-only distribution. Not yet available through our automated tool.

Permanent Delegate & Transfer Hooks

A permanent delegate can move any holder's tokens (used for compliance clawback); transfer hooks run custom on-chain logic on every transfer (used for allowlists or royalties). Both are the least-supported extensions across DEXs today. Not yet available through our automated tool.
