What is the full cost of a production-ready token, not just the mint?

Creation plus both authority revocations is 0.7 SOL before network fees. Most public tokens revoke both mint and freeze authority, since screeners and sniper bots check both within seconds of a pair going live. Add an OpenBook Market ID (2 SOL) and Raydium pool gas (0.3–0.5 SOL) only if you're opening a Raydium AMM V4 pool — a CPMM pool needs neither.

Why do some tools advertise a lower price than this?

Headline prices in this category usually cover only the mint transaction. Authority revocations, metadata, a Market ID and pool creation are frequently priced separately and left out of the number that gets advertised, so a low sticker price and a low all-in total are not the same claim. This calculator adds every line item up front so the total on screen is the total your wallet will actually be asked to sign for, not a starting price with the rest to be discovered later.

Do I need an OpenBook Market ID?

Only if you're opening a Raydium AMM V4 pool. Raydium CPMM pools, Meteora pools and Orca Whirlpools don't use an OpenBook order book and need no Market ID, and Jupiter routes all of them the same way. Why does a Market ID cost 2 SOL?

Almost all of it is Solana rent for the accounts a market needs — the market itself, its request queue, event queue, bids and asks, plus two token vaults — and rent scales with how large those accounts are allocated. It is not a flat platform markup; it is what those accounts cost to keep funded on-chain.

Is the liquidity I add counted as a fee?

No. Liquidity is capital you deposit into a pool in exchange for LP tokens representing your share, and it can be withdrawn later (or burned to prove you won't). The calculator adds it to the total SOL your wallet needs to hold, but keeps it in its own line so it is never confused with an actual charge.

Why does the calculator ask me for the SOL price instead of showing one?

SOL's USD price moves throughout the day, and a number baked into this page would be wrong within hours. The field defaults to a round starting figure — replace it with today's price from any exchange or price tracker and every USD total on the page updates instantly.

Are these the cheapest prices for creating a Solana token?

How much SOL do I need in my wallet before I start?
